Every tenure, bank by bank
How these rates are checked
From each bank’s own page
- Every month, in its first ten days, each bank’s rates are copied by hand from the bank’s own rate page, with the date the bank says they apply from.
- They are checked before they go up: no tenure left out between two others, senior citizen rates not below general ones, and any change of more than 0.5 points read again on the bank’s page.
- A bank not checked again for 45 days is marked; after 75 days its rates come down until they are checked again.
What they cover
- Fixed deposits of resident individuals under ₹3 crore, at each bank’s card rates. Senior citizen rates are as each bank defines them.
- Banks can change their rates at any time: check the bank’s page or branch before you invest.
- This page lists rates. It does not recommend a bank or a deposit.
